The third significant area of the foundation’s work is the promotion of inter-religious dialogue in a culturally, ethnically and religiously diverse country like India. Since Independence India has experienced several instances of religious riots and conflicts particularly amongst the two biggest communities – Hindus and Muslims. Through establishing dialogue fora and conducting research, HBF aims to remove prejudices and adverse pre-conceived notions amongst those communities. Through the dialogue with various communities and ethnic groups, the foundation sensitizes people about the rich culture and diversity of the Indian society and strives to establish peaceful co-existence in India and South Asia thus ensuring conflict prevention in this volatile region.
